The church of the New Testament was organized with qualified men serving as elders (also called shepherds, pastors, bishops, overseers, presbyters) and deacons (Phil. 1:1). The qualifications for elders and deacons can be found in      1 Timothy 3 (vs. 1-7 for the elders; vs. 8-13 for the deacons). These men meet the qualifications found in the New Testament. They have a strong love for the Lord, His Word, and His people.
